Overview
AeroKroil 10 oz is Kroil Original Penetrant in the smallest AeroKroil can we stock, Kano Laboratories SKU KS102. Kano says the aerosol and liquid hold the same product, and that Kroil has been trusted to loosen bolts since 1939. This size fits a glove box, service truck or home toolbox. It creeps into rusted threads and tight clearances, loosens the corrosion bond and lubricates, so seized parts turn with less force.
Key features
- Kroil Original Penetrant aerosol (formerly AeroKroil) in a 10 oz can
- Penetrates the smallest spaces, threads and openings, per Kano
- Frees bolts, fasteners and mechanical parts; will not attack or damage metal
- Slightly reddish oil; carbon dioxide propellant; 50-state VOC compliant
Where to use it
Rusted lug nuts and hitch pins, frozen hinges and locks, seized farm and garden equipment hardware, boat and trailer fittings, small-engine fasteners and general disassembly. For overhead or awkward spots, the spray reaches where a liquid would run off.
How to use
- Knock off loose rust and dirt so the spray can reach the threads.
- Spray the fastener, threads and any visible gap.
- Give it 15 to 30 minutes to start working (Kano); for parts rusted for years, re-apply and leave it overnight.
- Apply steady turning force while the part is still wet, and repeat the soak if it will not budge.
Compatibility and cautions
Kroil will not attack metal and is generally safe on most plastics and paint when used as directed; prolonged contact may soften or swell some plastics and rubber. Keep it away from brake pads, rotors and other friction surfaces, since petroleum oil contaminates them. The SDS classifies the can as a flammable aerosol that may burst if heated; the oil can irritate skin and eyes, may cause an allergic skin reaction and is an aspiration hazard if swallowed. Use it outdoors or with strong airflow, keep it away from flames and heat, and read the label and SDS. Ground shipping only, contiguous US (shipping policy).
Choosing a bigger can or a different Kroil
- AeroKroil KS132 (13 oz) and AeroKroil KS162 (16.5 oz): the same oil, more per can.
- Kroil KS132ST with SprayTech: sprays at any angle, even upside down.
- SiliKroil SK102: also 10 oz, with silicone for longer-lasting lubrication and moisture protection.
- Kroil KL081 drip bottle: liquid Kroil for precise drops.

FAQ
Does Kroil remove rust?
Kroil helps loosen rust and carbon deposits, but Kano notes it does not chemically dissolve rust. It works its way around and beneath the rust so the part can be turned with less force.
Can I use Kroil near brakes?
Kano says not to apply Kroil to brake pads, rotors or other friction surfaces. For seized caliper slide pins or brake line fittings, apply it carefully with masking and clean off any overspray before reassembly.
Is the 10 oz AeroKroil weaker than the bigger cans?
No. KS102, KS132 and KS162 share the same Kroil Original aerosol SDS; only the can size differs.
