Overview
DeoxIT D100L-2DB puts 100% DeoxIT D100L contact treatment in a 7.4 mL bottle with a nylon brush in the cap. CAIG calls it the general-purpose way to apply the liquid: the brush lets you wipe the treatment onto both the outer and inner surfaces of a contact, something a needle or spray cannot do as neatly. Like every D100L applicator, it contains no solvent, so nothing flushes or drips into surrounding parts.
Key features
- 100% DeoxIT D100L (D-Series); non-flammable; no VOC
- Integrated nylon brush; about 500 strokes of 10 mm each, per CAIG
- Approximately 20% chemical deoxidizing action
- Rated -29°F to 400°F (-34°C to 200°C); RoHS compliant
Where to use it
The brush suits contacts with some surface area: plug shells and center pins, socket contacts, battery and charger contacts, and audio/video, automotive and marine connectors. CAIG recommends it wherever overspray would be a problem on surrounding materials.
How to use
- Switch off and unplug the equipment.
- Brush a light coat onto the metal contact, working it over the outer and inner surfaces.
- Operate or mate the connector a few times, wait a few minutes, then wipe away lifted oxidation with a lint-free cloth or swab.
- Brush on a second light coat and wipe off the excess, leaving a thin film.
- Wait two minutes before powering up, and keep the brush clean between jobs, as CAIG advises.
Compatibility and cautions
CAIG calls the formula safe on plastics, rating ABS, nylon, polycarbonate and PVC Excellent. Test acrylic and polystyrene first (rated Fair), and keep it off rubber, varnish and porous materials. The SDS lists eye irritation (H320) as the hazard; wash your hands after use. You can download the SDS from our technical documents page.
Choosing between DeoxIT applicators
- D100L-16BX mini-brush (1.6 mL): the same brush idea in a pocket size, about 100 strokes.
- D100L-25C needle dispenser (25 mL): precise drops for pins and small switch contacts, about 1,250 drops.
- D100L-2C squeeze tube (2 mL): about 50 drops for a service kit.
- DeoxIT D5 spray: choose it when you need flushing action to wash dirt out of switches and enclosed contacts.

FAQ
Brush or needle: which DeoxIT D100L applicator should I buy?
The 2DB brush is better for wiping larger outer and inner contact surfaces; the D100L-25C needle dispenser is better for single pins and tight spots. Both hold the same 100% D100L.
How many uses does the 7.4 mL brush bottle give?
CAIG rates it at about 500 brush strokes, each about 10 mm long.
How much DeoxIT should I apply?
A thin coat. CAIG says DeoxIT works best as a thin coating on the metal, so wipe off the excess after the second application.
Does the brush version flush out dirt?
No. 100% D100L has no solvent and no flushing action. To wash contamination out of a switch, use a DeoxIT D5 or DN5 spray.
