Super Lube 82003 Anti-Corrosion & Connector Gel is a 3 oz tube of thin (NLGI 0), translucent amber dielectric gel that seals battery terminals, plugs, connectors, fuse holders and switches against moisture and oxidation. It is rated -45°F to 500°F (-43°C to 260°C). It is a protective compound, not a lubricant.

Overview
Super Lube 82003 is an anti-corrosion gel for electrical connections: a high molecular weight connector gel that works as both a dielectric compound and a corrosion inhibitor. It is soft, NLGI grade 0, so it spreads easily into a complete coating over terminals and connectors, where it adds an oxidation barrier against moisture, salt water and other contaminants. Super Lube is explicit that this gel should not be used as a lubricant; it is made to protect connections, not to reduce friction in moving parts.
Key features
- NLGI 0 gel (worked penetration 355 to 385, ASTM D217) for full, even coverage
- -45°F to 500°F (-43°C to 260°C)
- High dielectric capability; adds an oxidation barrier and reduces fretting wear
- Resists salt water and most detergents; no oil separation
- Stays pliable: will not dry out, harden, crack or form abrasive deposits
- Kosher certified; made in USA
Where to use it
Battery terminals, terminal strips, ignition switches, electrical connectors and plugs, circuit breakers, fuse holders, light switches and sockets, spark plug and coil connectors, and circuit boards. It is also used for corrosion blocking and for winterizing exposed metal surfaces on equipment stored for the season.
How to use
- Disconnect power, and the battery cable when treating battery terminals, before you start.
- Clean and dry the area; remove existing corrosion.
- Apply a coat of gel until the area to be protected is completely covered.
- Reconnect, and re-apply as necessary during routine maintenance.
Compatibility and cautions
Do not use it as a lubricant. Super Lube publishes a separate compatibility chart for this gel; test unfamiliar plastics first. 82003 is not NSF H1 registered, so for electrical work in food plants choose an H1 product such as Super Lube 91003. Read the SDS before use.
Choosing between connector gel and dielectric grease
82003 is a thin NLGI 0 gel focused on keeping terminals and connections from corroding. Super Lube 91003 Silicone Dielectric & Vacuum Grease is a thicker NLGI 2 silicone grease with a dielectric strength of 777 V/mil that also lubricates and seals rubber boots, O-rings and vacuum fittings. To protect larger bare-metal surfaces with a spray, see Super Lube 83110 Metal Protectant. More in our guide to Super Lube corrosion inhibitors and the dielectric grease collection.

FAQ
Is connector gel the same as dielectric grease?
Both are non-conductive compounds that seal electrical connections, and Super Lube lists dielectric grease among 82003's uses. 82003 is a thin NLGI 0 gel that is not meant to lubricate; 91003 is a thicker silicone grease that also lubricates seals and boots.
How do I protect battery terminals from corrosion?
Disconnect the battery, clean off existing corrosion, reconnect the clamps tightly, then coat the terminal and clamp completely with 82003. Re-apply during routine maintenance.
Is the gel conductive?
No. It is a dielectric compound. It protects the connection from moisture and oxidation, but the electrical path still depends on clean, tight metal-to-metal contact.
Will it harden over time?
No. Super Lube says the gel remains pliable and will not dry out, harden or crack, and it resists change from mechanical working.
