Overview
The Gas One butane fuel canisters 12 pack holds twelve GAS-1 canisters at 8 oz (227 g) each, 96 oz of fuel in total, and ships free to NJ, NY, PA, DE, MD and DC. It suits buyers who go through canisters every week, such as restaurants and caterers running portable burners at cooking stations, outdoor market and event stands, and campers who would rather buy fuel once a season.
Key features
- 12 Gas One GAS-1 canisters, 8 oz (227 g) each
- UL listed, per Gas One; non-refillable
- Vapor-withdrawal design: the notched collar aligns with the regulator so the stove draws vapor only
- The canister Gas One specifies for its GS-3000 stove (the manual rules out household use; Gas One’s current product page says “For Outdoor Use Only”)
Where to use it
Tableside and buffet cooking stations in commercial kitchens with a stove approved for that use, outdoor catering, demos and market stands, and frequent camping. For the home, the same canisters are for outdoor cooking only.
How to use
- Use stoves designed for 8 oz butane cartridges and approved for your setting.
- Give each stove ventilation and clearance; Gas One lists 16 inches at the sides and 63 inches above to combustible materials for the GS-3000.
- Change canisters with the stove off and cool, away from other burners or open flames. On a busy line, that means stepping away from the hot station.
- Leak-test each new canister with soapy water, never a flame.
- After service, remove the canisters from the stoves and return them to storage.
Compatibility and cautions
Storage rules depend on the setting. In New York City, FDNY rules allow no more than 12 portable LPG containers, butane included, to be used and stored in a restaurant, for food warming and browning only. Elsewhere your local fire code governs (Gas One’s GS-3000 manual cites a model-code limit of 24 canisters of 10 oz or less). At home, the manual says to store butane outdoors in a ventilated area, not in a building or garage. Your local fire code has the final word. Never store canisters above 120°F (49°C), never use a butane stove in a tent, camper, car or home, and never dispose of canisters in a fire.
Free standard shipping to NJ, NY, PA, DE, MD and DC; other contiguous states pay their zone’s flat rate. Ships by ground only within the contiguous US (no AK, HI, PR, APO/FPO or P.O. boxes); fuel cannot be returned for a change of mind. See the shipping policy.

FAQ
How many butane canisters can a restaurant store?
In New York City, FDNY rules allow no more than 12 portable LPG containers, butane included, to be used and stored in a restaurant (3 RCNY 308-01). Gas One's GS-3000 manual cites a model-code limit of 24 canisters of 10 oz or less elsewhere. Your local fire code governs, so confirm with your fire marshal.
Can you use a butane stove indoors?
Only where the stove is approved for it. Gas One's GS-3000 manual rules out household use and its current product page says "For Outdoor Use Only." Never use a butane stove in an enclosed space such as a tent, camper, car or home.
How do I dispose of empty butane canisters?
Never put them in a fire; Gas One warns that this can cause an explosion. Follow your local rules for empty pressurized canisters.
